Billy, Wingrove and RogersThe railway is home to two 2ft gauge Wingrove and Rogers 0-4-0BE locos. These are type WR5 with 5 hp motors and weigh 1.5 tons and the driver′s platform tips up to allow the loco to be lowered down narrow mineshafts. One of ours was built in 1973 and the date of its sister is unknown. Both worked in the fluorspar mines in Weardale, Co. Durham and they arrived in 9/1993 and 4/1994. One is currently off site being rebuilt after the harsh life it suffered underground.
