BOLD No.1, Ruston & Hornsby, Works No.323587Works number 323587 is a smaller type 30DL 4wDM with a 30hp Ruston engine, cab and a weight of 3 tons. She was ex-works on 23/1/1952 as 2ft 3in gauge from Ruston′s works in Lincoln to the NCB′s Bold Colliery, Lancashire, where she was named BOLD No.1.
In 5/1985 she was sent to Lambton Engine Works, neat Houghton le Spring for an overhaul and regauging to 2ft 2in gauge. Her next location was Sutton Manor Colliery, Lancashire, where she was sent from Lambton in 2/1986. In 9/1987 she was sent to Ashington Workshops and moved from there to Marley Hill in 5/1991. Later that year, she moved to a private site near Seaham, where she was regauged to 2ft gauge and returned to Marley Hill in 6/1993.
