Andrews House station
Refreshment room, gift shop and ticket office - Enjoy our rural station and picnic area set in a pleasant heather filled cutting. Purchase your tickets from here, browse around the well stocked shop or tuck into some light refreshments. Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located here. To visit Andrews House station, park your car in our main Marley Hill car park and follow signs to Andrews House station (approx 5 minutes walk).
Marley Hill Carriage Shed
Pontop Canteen - Step into our Carriage Shed, adjacent to the old Pontop and Jarrow Railway, where you’ll find a range of delicious hot meals, snacks and drinks. The Carriage Shed is the home of our restored vintage carriages - make sure to take a look at them up close whilst you visit Pontop Canteen. Toilets, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available within Marley Hill Carriage Shed. To visit the Canteen, park your car in our main Marley Hill car park and follow the signs to Marley Hill engine shed and carriage shed.
East Tanfield station
Tommy Armstrong's Tea Rooms - Named after 'The Pitman Poet', Tommy Armstrong, who once lived in Tanfield village and worked at East Tanfield colliery - now the site of our southern terminus. Visit our quaint tea rooms for tasty light refreshments and delicious homemade cakes. East Tanfield is the ideal location to start a walk through the beautiful wooded valley of Causey - perhaps finishing your stroll by crossing over Causey Arch, World's oldest railway bridge and catching the train back from Causey station. Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located here. Our East Tanfield visitor car park is situated beside the platform and station building - the preferred starting point for those who have accessible needs.
