Hexham to Carlisle

This very historic route runs close to Hadrian’s Wall and thus traverses superb upland scenery. Its many closed stations are illustrated, along with those on the long-lost branches. Details are also included of the Earl of Carlisle’s Railway, which once carried minerals between Lambley and Brampton. Includes 120 photographs, large scale maps, and other details of local history.
